Spring generalMarch is one of those months when the weather can go either way. No matter what it does though there are always some welcome signs of spring in the form of beautifully bright daffodils, primroses and tulips if we’re lucky.

On warmer days it is a treat to get out into the garden, especially after the challenging winter we have had this year.

If you’re venturing out, here are a few jobs you might like to do, it’ll pay dividends in the coming months:

daffodils-4912672_1280 Deadhead daffodils when they have finished flowering but leave the foliage to die back naturally
Tidy your borders by removing weeds and digging in compost or manure to enrich the soil
lawnmower-2786525_1280 Mow the lawn – don’t go too short and only mow if you are sure there won’t be a frost that night
Clean down pots and plan your planting for the coming season, fill them with fresh compost ready for the spring
Seeds Sow flower and veg seeds in the greenhouse or on window sills – growing from seed is really satisfying!
Willow Prune shrubs with colourful winter stems such as Salix (Willow) and Cornus (aka dogwood)
Plant summer flowering bulbs like Dahlias for a colourful display later in the year

Inject some colour with:
