Not only will you find plants that are ‘looking good’ but you also find an extensive A to Z of plants and trees kept well stocked all year round. Our retail plant and tree area covers more than 2 acres! We continue to produce many plants ourselves but we also have other local growers producing plants for Mill Race ensuring our stock is always of excellent quality. We also import plants from Holland, France and Italy ensuring a fantastic selection not only of ‘bread & butter’ ranges but the rare, unusual and the not so often seen plants and trees!

We have created seven display gardens that feature many of the most commonly requested advice topics. There are gardens that have planting schemes suitable for shade, dry, seasonal, groundcover and Mediterranean conditions; there is also a conifer garden. We are in the process of revamping all the gardens and have just completed a water garden complete with a pond, bog garden and Acers. We have combined exciting planting combinations with innovative design and unique natural materials, which are all available and displayed at the Centre
