How to Plant a Plant Basket:

If using a wire basket, you need to line it with straw and compost.  Adding a bit of water retaining granuals can also improve the health of your plants.

Start from the centre, add hanging plants to the side if you want them to cover the wire basket.  If you are using a more decorative basket, choose whatever plant you desire on the edges.  Choose flowers that complement each other.

Once all the plants are in, fill around the rootballs carefully with more compost, firming gently. You can push in some controlled-release fertiliser pellets or plugs at this stage, and then water well.

After planting, it is important to check the baskets everyday in the summer, watering them when needed.  Add fertiliser in the spring and summer.
