Garden Chemicals

Chemicals can often be a dirty word in gardening, but the truth is that they can offer a range of very important functions and can be really helpful – and literally everything on earth, including your plants, are made up from chemicals anyway, so not all of them deserve to be labelled with a skull and cross bones sign!

At Mill Race Garden Centre we offer a large selection of gardening chemicals, including weed killers, fungicides and insect killers. We also carry a large number of pH buffers, as well as odour neutralisers.

Garden pH buffers

It’s important to keep your pH meters running accurately, which is where the range of pH buffers come in handy. The solutions are available in pH10, pH4 and pH7, and can calibrate your meter to ensure ongoing accuracy.

Garden Cleaners and Treatments

Which sort of cleaning product you need often depends entirely on the job – especially if the surface that is being cleaned is delicate or difficult to clean. The Path & Patio Cleaner from Bayer is ideal for use on tarmac, asphalt, concrete and stone surfaces, and it helps to restore the natural colour of the stone while also removing algae, moss and stains.

Sometimes house plants need a spruce up, too, which is why we love Baby Bio Leaf Wipes. The wipes contain mild oils which help to keep leaves clean and shiny, making the plant look great but also allowing it to breathe properly free of dust and dirt.

Finally, the Hozelock Water Butt Treatment offers a safe and non-toxic treatment for stored water, helping to prevent unpleasant odours and keeping the water free from slime and algae.

Seal & Heal

We all make mistakes in the garden sometimes, but it’s comforting to know that Seal & Heal is there to help to rescue trees from accidental pruning cuts. The product helps to protect against diseases like coral spot and silverleaf from getting into the cut, and it can even be used at as low as -10°C.
